Indicator testing

Hi there

Apologies if this is an extremely obvious question.

I'm trying to run some tests on strength of various candlestick patterns.

I thought the best way to tdo this would be to enter long when the candlestick pattern is true. Then assess various results if closing after 1 bar, 5 bar, 10 bar 20 bar etc. Not a system as such, but a test of strength

1. Is there a simpler way of comparing indicators like this?
2. If not how do i set it to exit 1 bar after entry?

I cant seem to find how the wizard would let me do this. Would this be on the same set or a different set?

Dave,

In the Misc section of the Condition Builder you have one called "Bars since entry". Use that and you will be able to exit your trades after a bar has gone by.

I did note that, but am a little confused with the left and right conditions. What parameters would you suggest I put on the left and right conditions? Do i need to include the price?

On the left you select Bars since entry. On the right you select Misc -> Numeric value and type in how many bars you want.
