limit order fill simulation

Hi,

Using limit orders on the sim account, is any attempt made by NT to simulate fills realistically? Or does it just show a fill if the price is touched?

Are you talking during a backtest or real-time?

In a backtest, it will fill based on the limit price. In real-time, it depends on market conditions since the simulator will try to take into account things like bid/ask price/volume etc. at your limit price.

It is very sophisticated. It will take into account all types of information and even introduce delays to try and simulate internet latency, exchange delays, etc.

Great! One more reason to love NT. Now, if it could just use a little less RAM when running (200-400Mb not uncommon) .... but that's another story.
