    Moving average slope

Hi , having a spot of trouble using the strategy analyzer wizard to determine if the slope of a SMA is up/down.

For example I would only want to go long if the 50 SMA were pointing up/rising . I get boolean error whatever I try.

How can I achieve that using the wizard? Thank you.

In the Condition Builder, on the left choose Misc and then Rising or Falling. On the bottom left in Input Series select SMA(50). On the right, select Misc and then select true.

Thank you for that, works well. Can you also tell me how to set it to go long only if SMA(50) has a upward slope of say 5 or 10 degrees?

Hi, you can check out the 'Krause Slope' posted to our sharing section for this - http://www.ninjatrader-support2.com/...&id=37&catid=1

It will retrun you the slope in degress.

Thanks Bertrand, I've been looking for that snippet of code for slope for one of my indicators.

                nealpek,

You will have to go through the code and remove the segments you don't want from there. If the dots are done by a plot you could set that plot to transparent.

                    Neal,

Unfortunately I would not know as this is not our code. It may be best to try and contact the original author directly with your request. Good luck.

Tools>Edit NinjaScript and select the file to access the code.

Yes, correct, work your changes in, press F5 to compile the code. Then reapply fresh to the chart or press F5 there as well to reload NinjaScript related tools.
