    Simple ATS ON-OFF.

    Hello:

I wish to program an ATS to buy and to manage the position. Let's call it buyATS.

This buyATS would be normally inactive.

On my discretion to buy, I wish to activate the buyATS.

From that moment on, the program would do the buying, position management, exiting of partials or totals, etc. Automatically according to a set of programmed conditions/rules within the program.

Then I turn off the buyATS, but leave the current position unaltered.

Then I would manually manage the position created by the buyATS via a DOM or other external method.

    Is the above process possible?

Can you point me to a similar ATS I can copypaste/edit/etc?

I can already copypaste/edit etc indicators in ninjascript, so I'm not a complete newbie.

    Thanks

    shakira

    Hi shakira,

    Welcome to the NinjaTrader forums!

The link below from our helpguide introduces you to running NinjaScript strategies from the 'strategies tab' in the Control Center, this way you have a Start / Stop button to activate / terminate your NinjaScript strategy - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...tegiesTab.html

Depending on the complexity of your project, you could arrive at a simpler solution using the SuperDOM / ChartTrader ATM strategy features - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...verview13.html

For an advanced example, see this tutorial - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...yExample2.html

You can also call predefined ATM strategy templates to help you manage your strategy positions, for me see this link - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...trategies.html

      OK thanks.

Do I need a full license to execute a NT startegy on a chart?

I can't even get the simplest already programmed crossover to plot.

        Hi Shakira,
No, the free simulation license includes backtesting.

Are you connected to a broker / datafeed?

Which script are you trying to test?

          Yeah. Zenfire.

SampleMAcrossover. (I tried my code and didn't work either, so...I pick that)

I must be overlooking something really simple. Can't get it to work.

            Hi shakira,

Please follow those instructions here on how to run a NinjaScript strategy from a chart - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...romAChart.html

Please also make sure you have the plotting of your executions enabled (double click on the chart, set 'Plot Executions' to 'TextAndMarker')

OK thanks got the crossover to work.

              Question:

Is there a paid consulting service to program some custom code?

              Thanks again.
