How can I get calculate excess margin required?

Hello there,

I believe for MES the contract cost is $50. Which means if I buy or sell 1 contract, the excess margin is reduced by $50.

I experimented and I could buy prettu much until the excess intraday margin is almost exhausted.

When this happens, no more orders can be submitted untill the position is flattened/reduced.

Is this the expected behaviour?

Also how can I get an instument's cost, e.g. MES is $50?

Hello, thanks for writing in. There are pre-defined Risk settings set up for the Sim101 account which will prevent a contract from being bought/sold but there is no NinjaScript access to this, unfortunately. When using a live account, the risk settings would be defined on your broker's end and therefore there would be no access to this via NinjaScript.
