Gasoline and Heating oil not available?

I could not find Gasoline and heating oil contracts included in teh list of instruments available. How do i add those?

Hello,

The Heating Oil futures contract is listed as BH and the Gasoline Oil futures contract is listed as GAS in the Instrument Manager.

Please see instructions at the link below how to add them to your instrument list.

BH for Heating oil does not seem to work for IB data. I get a blank chart. Is there any other way to get this?

Have you checked the log tab in the control center? Is there an error message listed?

Yes, the log says "Cause: the symbol or loca-symbol must be entered".

I know BH is not the symbol used by the exchange as well as IB is HOF9. Also the Gasoline symbol in IB is RBF9. Here you told me it is GAS. So, how do i get the quotes/chart. Thanks.

The BH does not have a symbol mapping by default for Interactive Brokers. Highlight the BH in the "Available master instruments"-section and click Edit. Click the Misc-tab and you will see no symbol mapping. I tried HO and BH on my end, but I did not receive data.

Upon researching the IB website I noticed they provide the HO traded on the Nymex. It is set to Globex in NinjaTrader. Please disable the Globex exchange in the Definition-tab of the BH and enable Nymex. Set the symbol mapping to HO and use the 01-09 expiry month. You should now receive data.

The GAS is setup correctly by default. Please add the GAS 12-08 to your instrument list and check if you receive data.

I went into Instruments Manger. Changed exchange for BH to Nymex. Tried to get a chart. No data. HO is not listed in teh master list. GAS works.

Please check the screenshots and check if you setup the BH instrument the same.

Make sure upon adding the instrument to your instrument list the Nymex exchange and the 01-09 expiry is selected

I checked all 3 screens. Ist screen: does not have to have the symbol on it to get a chart from the tools -- new --chart sequence? Second screen is good. Third screen did not have anything in front of IB, added "HO". Ran the analyser again. Still no chart in analyser. But then i opened the chart in charts menu. Got chart. Then it also worked in analyser. I did not know you have to have a regular chart first before you can open it in analysis. Thanks.
