Scale out?

Relatively new to strategy programming, so maybe this one is simple:

I am working on a strategy that currently uses a trailing stop on the full position. What I would like to do is scale out of the position, leaving a runner with a trailing stop.

For example:

Enter with full position size
Scale out 1/3 at +X ticks
Scale out 1/3 at +Y ticks
Leave 1/3 on as runner with trailing stop of Z ticks

Any hints?
