    ATI user,

Also please realize that it really is just a PC clock syncing issue. Your executions are timestamped with your local PC clock. Your bars are being built from the timestamps provided by Zen-Fire. Especially on tick charts, it is very easy to spot the discrepancy and when you make a trade you end up plotting to wherever your trade occurred during your PC clock.

An easy way to spot this discrepancy is just to print DateTime. Now along with the timestamp of the bar.

I am going to have to suggest you get a clean reinstall of NT and .NET.
      1. Uninstall NT
      2. Uninstall .NET
      3. Delete My Documents\NinjaTrader 6.5 (BACKUP EVERYTHING YOU WANT FIRST. NINJASCRIPT, WORKSPACE, REPLAY, ETC.)
      4. Clear internet browser cache
      5. Reinstall .NET 2.0
      6. Reinstall NT
      7. Resync PC clock
      8. Retest with live data

      1. uninstalled NT
      2. could not uninstall .NET as it is not listed in Remove Programs (running Vista) and does not show up in a search
      3. deleted My Documents\NinjaTrader 6.5 (did backup)
      4. Cleared internet browser cache
      5. skipped
      6. installed NT
      7. resynced clock
      8. seems to be working ok...will advise

seems to be plotting fine now....two 30 tick charts have not make a bad plot yet

did I read somewhere on the forum that NT7 will use timestamps from the datafeed instead of PC time?

this would solve the problem would it not?

No, I am not aware of any such change. It will not solve the issue for a host of reasons. For one thing, many data providers do not even provide timestamps.

              really? ok

one final question on the timestamp subject....

when 3 of us in the same live chat room are all connected to Zenfire do we get vastly different bar constructs?...i.e. the same 1000 vol bar for instance will start at 15 to 30 seconds different times and therefore have different HLOC

Volume bars are not built based on time. They are built based on the incoming tick volumes. As such the bars are dependent on what you already have in your database or already loaded for your chart instead of time.

I posted before re problems with volume bars....it is still my opinion that the session should start with a new bar based on session start time and not when the volume for the prior bar is reached.....like I believe tick charts do don't they?

anyway...forgetting volume bars, then our tick bar charts and time bar charts should all start at the same time if we are all on Zenfire feed?

Tick charts is under the same realm as volume charts. I believe on both you should be able to run them the same based off of session end. Are you suggesting it behaves otherwise? Time charts definitely have no problem with session end.

meaning 9:30 9:30 session times should start both a vol and a tick chart with a fresh bar at 9:30? unfortunately no... with a 9:30 close and 9:30 open, a vol bar will still finish the last bar to 1000 vol, for instance, before it starts a new bar.

if I recall correctly, tick charts will drop an incomplete bar at the session close and start with a new bar on session open....would have to test again to be sure

range bars do not start fresh on open either I believe

Right. Thank you for the clarification. That is the way the chart types work.
