Question about computer resources

    The point is to find a working base case. Then add layers of complexity on top afterwards. From our experience we find that many custom indicators are just not coded in an optimized fashion and this causes performance impacts on the system.

      Same is the case here. I have even tried just running only one static superdom (no charts), it helped a bit, but the problem did not go away completely. I don't think my internet is the problem, I have tradestation running fine under heavy volume conditions.

          After reading all the other people's problems here, sounds like the problem has nothing to do with computer resources, whether running indicators or not, has nothing to do with data load, it is just a problem with NT which they refuse to acknolege or do anything about.

              Yes, i understand Josh. Thank you. But I have already done everything you had suggested. And It seems that i am not the only one with this problem.

                Other users are not having the same experience as you. Your original report was of "flashing". There is little more I can recommend since we cannot reproduce.

                You could try a complete fresh reinstall of NinjaTrader as well as .NET.
                1. Uninstall NinjaTrader 6.5
                2. Uninstall .NET
                3. Clear internet browser cache
                4. Delete My Documents\NinjaTrader 6.5 folder (WARNING: YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING. ALL NINJASCRIPT STRATEGIES, INDICATORS, DATABASE, WORKSPACE, ETC. BACKUP FIRST)
                5. Reinstall .NET 2.0
                6. Reinstall NinjaTrader 6.5

                  I have already done reinstall of NT, reinstalled video controller drivers, disabled the accelration, gone through your help line thing about not having so many days of data and other stuff, i have only two charts open with only two indicators on each. The flashing of the windows does not happen during high data activity or anything, it even happens in teh exstended hours when there is hardly any activity. It only happens if NT is open. So, it is not the computer or computer resources, it must be somethingin the software. Otheres in this link have complained of same problem.

                  Anyway, it is something i can live with if I make money using the NT. I will find out in the next month or so. If I don't have any advantage using the NT over without it, then i don't have to put up with the flashing. Anyway, I don't know if all the time I am putting in learning the program is worth it. Only time will tell.
