VOL/ Period/ bars back

In the left panel, when i select "VOL" a qualifier "Period" and "Bars ago" shows up. What does period mean? Since VOL is not an average, period should not be relavent. Right? If I put a 3 in the period, what would that mean.

ON the ES chart, I am using the "Volume Color" (custom) for voulume indicator. But in the condition builder, I have selected in the left panel "VOL" as the indicator and not "Volume Color". Does it matter? The system will still calculate based on VOL? Thanks.

Hi ju1234,

When you select VOL in the condition builder, only BarsAgo will show up, allowing you to reference previous bars.

When you see Period and BarsAgo, you may have chosen the VOLMA accidentially.

Yes, please use VOL in the condition builder for setting up your logic.

I am sorry, the indicator actually was MAX but VOL being in the MAX. So, the "period" applies to the MAX and not VOL.

Anyway, this is what I have: MAX[VOL[], 5][0]>100000

Does this correctly read as: the maximum volume in the last 5 bars is >100000 and the calculation of action is based on bar 0? Thanks.
