    MarketPosition.Flat

    I'm testing a strategy. I believe I need to add this statement in OnBarUpdate(), My understanding is that this statement makes sure there are no open positions exist before proceeding with a new position.
    (Position.MarketPosition != MarketPosition.Flat) return;

    However, when I back test the strategy with this statements the results seem unfavorable compared to the one without this statement (fewer trades and less profit). Also, when I build the strategy using StrategyBuilder I do not see this statement added in the code.

    Appreciate if someone clarifies it.

    Hi ark, thanks for posting.

    Position represents the strategy position, so this line will return from OnBarUpdate if a position exists (Position.MarketPosition != MarketPosition.Flat) return; You will need to use the Print statement to see what the strategy is doing with/without this statement. It really depends on how you are using this in the strategy.

    Kind regards,
