Auto start strategy after NT7 run
After starting NT7 I get previous workspace loaded with my charts, but strategies on them are marked as (D) so I need fo reapply them manually to run.

The same restriction exists on both platforms.
I doubt this will ever change -- think about the awful potential of runaway
losses because NT automatically starts previous strategies as soon as the
platform connects -- without any explicit 'start' command from the user.
I would suspect any lawyer worth their salt would advise NinjaTrader mgmt
"don't do that" because "someday the worse will happen and someone will
inadvertently lose a lot of money because their kid started NT just to see
what this 'new game' looks like and they will sue you for the losses".
I understand your situation is different. But I can't see how management
would ever change their minds -- it seems right and consistent (to them)
to always have strategies started with explicit user actions.
The only way to get around this (for the true automation junkie) is to use
some kind of Windows automation tool, like AutoHotkey.Last edited by bltdavid; 03-21-2021, 04:56 PM.

Well, it depends on what exact strategy actually do. I've got ones that makes only some auxiliary calculations, no orders, so there is no reason to disable autorun for them.Originally posted by bltdavid View PostI doubt this will ever change -- think about the awful potential of runaway

Huh? No orders?Originally posted by curious View PostWell, it depends on what exact strategy actually do. I've got ones that makes only some auxiliary calculations, no orders, so there is no reason to disable autorun for them.
Then I'd recommend you make it an indicator.
Indicators don't have an "auto start" limitation.
Problem solved.
