Differences in Exit Orders

Can you explain the difference between generating an Exit order in the 'Condition Builder/Strategy Action' section as compared to doing it in the 'Stops and Targets' screen.

For example, if at a certain condition i want to open a long position and also have it simultaneously generate an order to close that position using a stop limit trade (after the price reaches the limit it then initiates a stop order) i would put two actions in the 'Strategy Action' section : one to open the long position and one to create the Stop/Limit exit order.

Or, I would put just one Open Long order in the Action section, and then have the 'Stops and Targets' screen generate the exit order.

I'm asking because there is an option for the Stop/Limit order in the Action section, but not in the 'Stops and Targets' screen.

If you are trying to get out at a certain number of ticks and the exit does not depend on any other condition other than ticks in profit, then use the stops and targets. The Stops are limit orders and the Targets are limits orders that are associated with the order you designate in "From entry signal".

SetProfitTarget is ExitLongLimit() and SetStopLoss is ExitLongStop().

But am I able to submit a "Stop/Limit" exit order in the 'Stops and Targets' screen?

From what I see I am only able to submit Stop, Limit, and Trailing Stop orders.

No, you cannot submit stop limit order in the stops and targets section. You would need to do this in the actions and conditions page.
