I have a very good SMA strategy mapped out but I am having trouble getting the position to open on the very next bar after the sma cross. It seems to always open 2 on the second bar after the cross. Can anyone advise?

Are you sure that the entry really occurs two bars later? Please post some screenshots using GlobalCrossHair like illustrated in the attached.
That's the SampleMACrossOver strategy. When looking carefully at the chart, trades are NOT entered with two bars delay. Instead, the crossover itself occured between bars.
Ninja waits for a cross and a close of a bar and then immediately fires on the next Open, which appears correct to me.
