Edit Sample Strategy

Hi

First post. Trying to learn how to build Strategies in NT8

Looked a the 301 Tutorial and followed it step-by-step. Didnt work

So the plan is to modify one of the Sample Strategies. Namely the MA corssover

How do I open it and modify it? I can open the one I made but not the sample ones

What do you mean that the strategy from the 301 tutorial did not work? How were you testing the strategy and what specifically happened?

To open and edit the 'SampleMACrossOver' strategy go to your Control Center>>New>>NinjaScript Editor>>expand the strategies folder>>double-click on the 'SampleMACrossOver' strategy>>right-click inside the code and select "Save As...">>name your strategy

I followed the 301 Tutorial up to the individual strategy and entered my indicator setup. Theres a number of things that could have wrong on my end. Im not blaming the tutorial

I managed to save the Sample MA Strategy and it shows in that window but nowhere else. Can I open it in Strategy Builder?

Try compiling the strategy by right-clicking inside the code and selecting "Compile". Then look again to see if you can find the strategy in other windows.

You will not be able to edit that strategy with the Strategy Builder. Only code that has been created in the Strategy Builder and never "Unlocked" can be edited that way.

I see. The idea was to take a functioning Strategy and work with that. Instead of endlessly trouble shooting the one I tried to make.

Is there any guide to fixing non performing strategies?
