Accessing variables from indicators/charts

Hello,

I use the Fin-Alg TPO charts. These have various properties -i.e. there are letter designations in each profile, and there are items such as Point of Control and value area high and low etc. These are show on the charts. Do you know if it is possible to access these these properties as variables in order to build an automated trading strategy? The Fin-Alg charts are essentially a commercial black-box and so I'm not sure it would be possible to access this information without access to the chart building code.

Thank you for the post.

By default, you can assume no indicators have accesseble properties for access while using NinjaScript, this is left up to the developer to expose Plots for users to access. Most of the stock indicators do, and some third party items do.

For this quesion, you would need to ask the provider of this product and check if they have made this so that it can be used with NinjaScript and if they have any examples. You can try and use the Platform to try and guess if this can be used also but it is usually easiest to just ask the developer.

To check using the platform, the easiest solution is to create a new strategy using the strategy wizard and then see if the indicator can be used for conditions. If so, the builder can generate the code for the indicator which you can then click View Code to see.
