    Divergence in strategy

    I'm just getting into strategy coding, and I'm wondering how I might be able to make a strategy recognize divergence between 2 custom indicators.

    I've included a pic, showing the 2 in question, the yellow line and the white line...

    Thanks!

    Hello indy73,

    Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums!

    A simple way to look at divergence is to subtract the current value of one indicator from the other and compare that difference to the prior bar's difference to see if the difference is increasing or decreasing.

    For example, using two SMAs, one a 10 period and the other a 30 period:

    if ((SMA(10)[0] - SMA(30)[0]) > (SMA(10)[1] - SMA(30)[1]))
    {
    // do something if difference is increasing
    }
