What is the "Delay comm. (msec)" setting in Options do?

What is the "Delay comm. (msec)" setting in Options do?

I see this set to 75, and another setting Delay exchange (msec) set to 150.

What do these do? Are these changing the time of arrival of information from the exchanges I'm connected to? I'm guessing no because that would be very bad, but just curious.

They are delays you can introduce for the sake of realism when using simulation.

What IPs or URLs would I ping to verify these parameters are set to realistic values?

Not sure, you would have to contact your broker for their addresses.
