Range Chart Issues between brokers

A 3 range chart in say 6E or NQ with a Continuum account would return thousands of bars per day. i.e. about 1 to 1.5 pages of chart per day when the time/y axis is compressed to its max.

The same set up with an FXCM account returns very few bars a day i.e. about 16 days per page with the time/y axis fully compressed.

At first I thought that this might be a lot sizing issue and so set the fxcm to tenth pip. This had minimal effect on NQ/NAS100 and some very weird results on 6E/EURUSD.

Are you able to advise if this is a configuration issue or a fundamental difference between the data feed algorithms of the two brokers?

Thank you for your post,

This would be due to fundamental differences between the data / instruments.

By default, the range chart will be set to build on Last price data, which does not exist in the Forex market; forex charts in NinjaTrader are driven by the Bid price.

Even if the futures charts were set to Bid price (right click > Data Series > Price based on), there still will likely be a discrepancy because of separate market conditions between the two markets.
