Anythoughts or further suggestions on how to fix this problem? Any know issues with other Ninjatrader/IB users? I cannot get Level II to feed into Ninja Traer for GOOG, MSFT, YHOO, AMZN. I get level II fine on the IB TWS platform. IB is saying that since I get things fine through their platform, this is a 3rd party issue. Please let me know your thoughts.

Getting IB Level II to feed into NinjaTrader
For some reason, I cannot get Level II for stocks on IB TWS to feed into Ninja Trader. The only stock I can get level II now is AAPL, and only through a recommendation from IB technical support to switch the exchange from "default" to "Island". I tried the same method on other stocks, but no luck.

Getting IB Level II in Ninja Trader
Vince,
I am not talking about Superdom, just normal Level II. I can't get any of it to work other than AAPL. AAPL is currently the only symbol I can get Level II on.

Can you confirm you have opened up the Level II window and brought up the AAPL in it?
In addition please check if you're on our current release V6.5.1000.5.
If you are, please reset your instruments in the Options menu under Tools--> Options--> Misc--> Reset Instruments.Last edited by NinjaTrader_VinceB; 08-14-2008, 10:44 AM.Vince B.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Getting Level II data from IB to feed into Ninja Trader
Vincent,
I have try reseting the instrument list that you suggested and still no luck. I currently can get AAPL, RIMM level II to work, but nothing else for all other tickers.

Hello,
Are you getting any errors in you log tab?
Try shutting down all tickers in TWS, charts and windows in NT, then shut down TWS for 10 minutes. Then retest just one instrument via NT while all of the IB tickers are closed.
Also, what version of TWS are you on? You need to be on 884. You can get this version here:

Getting IB Level II to feed into NinjaTrader
Hi there,
I am running version TWS version 884. I followed your instruction and tested each instruments one at a time while all the TWS ticker are off. AAPL and RIMM works fine. However, when I tried to load any other ticker, GOOG, QQQQ, YHOO, CSCO, MSFT, I was not able to get level II to work in NT. I had the level II window open up > right mouse click to enter the security and exchange> selected GOOG> selected ISLAND for exchange> hit enter, and nothing happened. The Level II box just appeared as if nothing happend. If I selected Default as the exchange, then I get 1 line of just statistical summary up top. I then tried accessing Level II through TWS and no issues there.

Hello,
Sorry. Since my last post we have updated to supporting 887 now. You can get it here:
Please try Default or Nasdaq as your exchange. Tools>Instrument Manager>Edit, then remove and add back the instrument using the ">" and "<" buttons.
Also are you subcribed to Level II/Total View through IB?DenNinjaTrader Customer Service
