Zen-fire subscription/network error...

I am experiencing trouble with NT today.

Even though I am 'sucessfully connected' to Zen-fire, none of my charts display any data, and none of the screens actually have any market data in them.

In the Diagnostics tab I see this error over and over again:

2008-08-07 14:19:53:957 (Zen-Fire) Hosted.Unmanaged.Callbacks.Alert: connection=1 alertType=6 code=7 msg='The subscription to this instrument has been aborted.  Dependent network services and/or data were not available.'

Does this mean my userid is locked or invalid?

Derek,

Please send an email from within the software under Help--> Mail to Support. Logs and Traces will be automatically attached. Put in the subject 'For Vince'.

Also leave the Diagnostics tab for what it is. It only needs to be enabled if development asks for it.

@Vincent: Thanks for the quick reply. I have already sent this email, and Ben has now replied with the answer to solve the problem.

For the benefit of other NT users I will relay the solution. The problem stems from the list of futures I was trying to get data for --- they had expired... [what a noob! ]

As per Ben's email, the solution is:

Please follow the instructions below to rollover the expiration date of a futures contracts. (This is why you are not getting data.)

• From within the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Instrument Manager
• Highlight the contract you wish to rollover in the left side of the Instrument Manager window
• Press the ">" button (the instrument will disappear from the list)
• Press the "<" button and the instrument should re-appear with the front month expiration date
