How to look at Historical Charts and Simulate

I have watched the training videos as well as read a bunch of information on how to download historical charts on NT7. I'm currently using their free version b/c I just wanted to see how I like this trading platform before becoming a client. However, I can't figure out how to load about 3-5 years worth of /ES data. And every time I do this, I only get about a years worth of data up until 12/7/16 or so. Then it cuts off. Then if I try to zoom in to a 5 min chart, the entire screen goes blank. Can anyone help me get on the right track? I mostly just want to look at historical data for the ES, TF, NQ, NYSE TICK, and NYSE AD line. I don't care about simulating.

To send me your log and trace files from within NinjaTrader. Go to Control Center-->Help-> Mail to Platform Support in NinjaTrader. Put 'Att Shawn', in the subject field and enable 'Log and trace files'.
