Speeding up back testing?

Hi there, is there a way to speed up back testing, when it's tick-by-tick?

I'm developing a strategy. Since I test it tick-by-tick, I can't run it through the back testing tool; rather, I need to run a historical replay. Even when I speed up the replay to 500X, it takes me about 28 hours to run through 18 months. Of course, I'd like to accomplish this faster. Is my only option to purchase a faster PC? Thanks,

Switch to NT8. Should be 5 to 6 hours on a quad core Intel, hyperthreading, i7

There is no option to speed up the Tick Replay in NinjaTrader 7. As sledge suggested, NinjaTrader 8 offers faster playback speeds for the Replay data.
