How to set commission rates properly?

Hi all.

Still using NinjaTrader 7.

There's a huge difference between the P/L reported by my broker's (Interactive Brokers) simulated account and the "Realized P/L" stated in the Accounts section of Ninja.

I suspect the difference is caused by commissions: the trade prices agree at both the broker and Ninja.

I've tried to play with commission rates, both in the Tools/Options/Commission and on an instrument level (I trade futures: GC, CL, YM, NQ), but so far have not succeeded in getting the two amounts to agree...

I suspect I'm not doing this right.

Can someone point out to me exactly what I should be doing?

All data within the 'Accounts' tab of the Control Center is sent through your connection. Setting the commissions within the platform would have no affect on these values. You can learn more about what information is provided per broker here:

Can you clarify - is this only with the Interactive Brokers demo account? If you have a live account, does that appear correctly?

The commission settings in the platform will only affect locally calculated values which you can then view within a report on the Account Performance tab. Here is a link with more information:

Hi, Patrick. Thanks for the response.

The live account I trade with TWS so I couldn't tell.

I'll try to remove all commission info in Ninja and see what happens.
