    unit of commission

Hi when we trade FX for example AUDJPY, is the unit of the commission always in USD?
Basically I want to add a conservative bid-offer penalty on top of the usual commission and am wondering if I need to transform that spread (from JPY to USD)?
    Thanks for your help
