Need More Historical Data for Range Bars

Hi,

How do i download more range bar historical data? It seems that i can only get range bar data going back only one year.

I also went into historical data manager to download more data. But still only getting only data for one year back.

How can I get more Range bar historical data?

Thanks for posting.

Who are you connected to for data? Your data provider would determine the amount of historical data saved on their servers.

Thanks for getting back to me.

This would be expected behavior, as NinjaTrader Continuum relies on the NinjaTrader Historical Data Servers for historical data. These servers only provide a year of Tick data, which is used to build Range charts.

Rithmic, CQG, and Continuum would also use these data servers. However, other data providers may have further data back. I have provided a link below to our Help Guide that goes over understanding the data provided by the different available connectivity providers.

There are 3 kinds of historical and real-time data: Tick, Minute, Day.

Range bars (and Renko bars) are built from Tick data.

Because you are using Continuum, all your historical data is downloaded from the NinjaTrader historical data servers.

The NinjaTrader historical servers only have (I think) 1 year of Tick data, whereas most Minute and Day historical data is retained indefinitely.
