Pending orders frozen

Greetings,

NT 7, running a Custom Strategy, Strat ran correctly first time. When run again Entry Orders showed Pending and could not be canceled. Orders were OCO's.

Trade Desk suggested OCO orders were the cause, to log off and log back on, which cleared the orders. How do I prevent this from happening in the future. Was'a good trade I missed . . .

This Behavior is likely caused by OCO Ids being re-used.
If an order is filled or cancelled using an OCO ID, all orders from that point forward using that OCO ID will become stuck in the PendingSubmit state.
This is because you are attempting to pair a new order with an already closed order using OCO which is not possible.
This means that it is very important that once you've placed a pair of orders with OCO, that you change the OCOID to a new unique ID.

Attached is an example of this that uses dates and times to make unique oco strings.

(You could also use GetAtmStrategyUniqueId() to generate a unique string for each new order pair.

Why didn't I have the problem in Sim ? Maybe a few times, but not every time.

This affects some brokerages and not all, and does not affect the Simulation Engine built into NinjaTrader.
