Is there a way to run any moving average indicators on the HeikenAshi candles?

At this time it is possible for an indicator to be placed in either the price panel or another indicator panel however, if all objects in the panel do not share the same relative scale, the visual affect will not be as you expect.
For example, if you placed a stochastics indicator in the price panel, the y-axis scaling of this panel will be from a range of zero to the highest high of you price series. This will likely cause the price bars to be severely compressed in the top of the chart.
The ability to "overlay" will be added in NinjaTrader 7.
As an alternative, there are some user submitted custom indicators such as "stochastics over price" located in our NinjaScript File Sharing section of our forum. These are free to use.

        Support,

Is this Heiken Ashi improvement going to be released in Ninja 7 beta? Will be nice to see heiken ashi as default feature (like a bar style option rather than indicator) and without the distortion of candles in Ninja 6.5.x

Also will ninja script users be able to modify the open/close/high/low of candles in Ninja 7 Beta?

            Bertrand,

Will wait for Ninja 7 release. I hope it will have improved Heiken Ashi without candle distortion and will be resource efficient.

            Thanks
            RK

Thanks Roonius. I appreciate it. Just tried it. It appears efficient on the processing power, when "CalculateonBarClose" is set to true. But if one needs to see the latest bar, tick by tick (similar to any regular candlestick chart), won't it consume more system resources?

Also, this still has the candle distortion problem. The candles get distorted by the graphics and there is no candleoutline. Anyway to enhance it,so that appears like a regular candlestick chart without graphics/drawobjects in 6.5 or is it best to wait for Ninja 7 to solve this problem?

Any indicator will consume more resources if you set it to calculate intrabar.

Yes Roonius thats true. With the draw objects/graphics, any indicator consumes more resources. That was the reason,I requested the feature so that HeikenAshi be a default thing in Ninja 7 like any other candlestick chart, without any drawobjects/graphics/candle-distortion.

Your rHeikenashi indicator reduces the resource usage in NT 6.5 to a good extent though. Found some minor things while testing it,will post in the other thread.

                      Support,

Will NT7 remove the HeikenAshi distortion and make the candles like regular candles?

                      Thanks

RK_trader, as work in progress we're adding new bars types such as a HeikenAshi one, this may or may not be released in the beta though - http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/NT7/NinjaTrader7.html
