    Trying to add MBT connection

Per the instructions for adding a connection on the Ninja website.....
I did Tools > Account Connections, Add - which brings up the Wizard.
I don't see MBT in the dropdown for providers.
I currently have a FOREX demo with MBT and wish to connect Ninja to be able to use Ninja's charting and order entry using MBT price feed.

Please advise on how to proceed.
    Thanks

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

What data feed providers do you have listed?

Please go to your firewall settings and allow NinjaTrader to access the internet so you license key can be validated.

      Ben, these are my choices......
      Barchart.com
      Esignal
      Gain
      IQfeed

Firewall is set to allow NT access.

It sounds like your license is setup for Zen-Fire. Please send a note attn Jessica to support AT ninjatrader DOT com with the license key you have entered under Help--> License Key and I will test this for you.

Thanks for the info Jessica -
Sounds like the Multi-Broker license is the way to go -
a couple of other questions -

            1. - Do charts using an MBT feed display bars prior to current prices? (historical data)
            2. - Are all order types and functionality of the MBT Navigator available when integrated with Ninja ?- (are there any screen shots what the platform looks like with MBT integrated?)

            Thanks -

ready to get that Multi-Broker access

              1) MBT does not provide historical data as part of their API however, our multi-broker licenses do provide access to a limited set of historical data for futures and currencies.

              2) Not all order types of MBT are supported by NinjaTrader but all of the standard order types that NinjaTrader supports are supported. There are no screen shots.

                Ok Ray -

Thanks - I didn't think they provided the historical data - just wanted to confirm.
I think the NT order types should suffice just fine - also just confirming.

                  one last question

And an automated strategy written in NT script attached to a chart using the MBT datafeed will execute the orders with the MBT broker..

                  correct?

                  Thanks

                      Hey Ray,

It seems like MBT is finally exposing historical data in the new version of their API. The new Navigator v 11.1.0.2 is available in both a beta and an alpha version with rudimentary charts. Using a chart in the alpha version you can see data back to the beginning of March right now.
The MBT SDK release notes say this...
"...the quality of the historical data is still being tested, but the MbtHist object structure itself is stable."
I will check Sunday to see if NinjaTrader will work with the new version and if it is able to use this data although I would guess that it will not unless you guys code for it on your end.
It would be nice to have a backfill option for Forex that goes futher back than the 24 hour Gain data. Maybe this is something you can add to your ever growing list of considerations?

                      Thanks,
                      Gains

It will not work with NT until we explicitly support in our code. Once their SDK is in product that supports historical data we will look at adding support for it.

I imagine you guys are more on top of this than I am but i just noticed that the MBT navigator 11.1.0.2 is now official and a mandatory upgrade for the past couple days.
Is utilizing the new historical API features it offers a major amount of coding for you or a fairly quick and easy upgrade?
I'm not trying to pin you down to any set time frame, I'm just hopefully optimistic that it won't be a nightmare task for you and that we will have another FX data source soon.

                              Thanks,
