    license prompt at startup

    Hi,

I have NT 8b installed on two computers which are on the same network. Since installation, both copies are working on the free license (at least that is what I assume, since I never had to manually enter a license).
After I imported a backup of one NT 8b (everything except market replay) onto another NT 8b installation, the NT 8b which I imported to began to constantly prompt me to enter a license key (which I do not recall ever receiving) during startup. How can I get past this prompt?

PS: I have a working internet connection, my firewall is off, and my router settings did not change. In theory, I should have no problem in connecting to the NT license server.

Hello, thank you for your post!

I wasn't able to reproduce what you are experiencing. Are you using a live license key or a simulation license key? A simulation license key would start with @SIM.

If a live license key, to troubleshoot, please attempt to enter the simulation key.

Please copy the license key provided below and paste it under the Control Center -> Help -> License Key.

    @SIM-A82F-D583-40B1-AE74-B79F-705D-1952

Please ensure you have restarted NinjaTrader for the changes to be applied.

Do you experience the same? If so, if you navigate to the Log tab of the Control Center, do you see any errors reporting? What do they report? A row highlighted in yellow is an error message reporting.

The license prompt started appearing when loading NT8b and is as follows:

Since I cannot bypass this prompt and log in to the Control Panel to access the log files, I went to the folder C:/Users/Username/Documents/Ninja Trader 8/ and opened the latest log file, which shows this:

      Code:
      2016-08-27 13:45:52:177|2|4|Session Break (Version 8.0.0.12)
      2016-08-27 13:45:53:560|1|4|Type=Simulation State=Invalid Start Date=1/01/1800 End Date=1/12/2099
      2016-08-27 13:46:01:402|1|4|Type=Simulation State=Invalid Start Date=1/01/1800 End Date=1/12/2099
In the past, restarting or reinstalling NT8b, or disabling firewall did not fix this issue.

Edit: After entering the License key which was provided in the previous post, NT8b loads up into my workplace successfully, and this is the resultant log output:

      Code:
