Sell limit orders changing to buy limit

Let's say price is at 4505 and I set a sell limit order at 4505.50.
I then see the price drop to 4504 and I would like to short on this so I click on the order and drag my order from 4505.50 into 4503.50. This now turns into a buy limit order and places me into a long position that I did not intend to.

Is there a way to change this so that no matter how I move my orders, they never switch from sell limit to buy limit or viceversa?

This is unexpected behavior. I would expect if you were to modify a sell limit order to a price below the last traded price that it would fill almost immediately and put you in a short position. Orders are not switched from buy to sell when modifying them.

Please send me your log and trace files so that I may look into what occurred.

You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Mail to Platform Support.

Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.
