windows 10 changes my machine ID

I have two computers. One I updated to Windows 10 the other I left with Windows 7. When I updated to 10 on the laptop Windows changed my machine ID. I had to contact all my vendors to coordinate the new Machine ID so my indicators would work. Then about 10 days later Windows 10 re-instated my old Machine ID and I had to do it all over again. Has anyone else had this problem? Has Windows 10 learned not to do this? I don't want to update the second computer if I'm going to go thru this hassle again.

    Hello mikemac,
Upgrading a computer to Windows 10 will change your machine ID. There is no way to prevent this.
