Playback timing query

Hi,

I would like to ask a question regarding realistic playback of level ii data and trade via the dom. As I understand (might be wrong), NT7 does not timestamp the data and hence playback may not be quite the same as in real-time? NT8 does playback realisticly as it stores timestamps now? In both products, you can download replay data. Is the timestamp included in the replay data? What I'm trying to find out is the most realistic way to play back a day in either product. Pretty sure NT8 is going to be the answer based on what I'v read, but if someone could confirm and regarding the replay data downloaded and not directly recorded, that would be great.

Just to add, I have tried with downloaded replay data and nt8 and the dom only seems to update in 1 second intervals, not pre real-time. It's accurate, but seems to just jump forward in 1 minute increments so not very useful for simulation, which is what I am looking for.

Thank you for your post.

Level II data is time stamped for both NinjaTrader 7 and NinjaTrader 8.

NinjaTrader 8 the core data is recorded down to the millisecond however for performance reasons the update will only be seen visually each second. Orders, indicators, etc. will use the core data which is down to millisecond to execute, calculate, etc.
