Market analyzer built ins not working NT8B12

    hey there,

just to confirm that Market analyzer built ins for stocks not working. Average Daily Volume/Current Ratio/Shares Outstanding and the likes are all blank. I'm getting updating Ask/Bid/Last price but that's the only thing. As mentioned in other posts, custom indicators are also not operational, even with enough days loaded for data.

Anyone else figured out a way to fix that, or that's just a Beta thing still?

    Hello lmatiukas,

I have tested this with a new installation of the publicly available NinjaTrader 8 Beta 12, using Kinetick and I was not able to reproduce this behavior.

Below is a link to a video of this test.

I would like to schedule a call with you to investigate on your end.

Perfectly Clear Video - thank you for taking the time.

I've followed all of the same steps, and reinstalled freshly. I'm connecting to TD Ameritrade; I have to think they don't provide that info over to you then,

      thanks

        Hello lmatiukas,

I am not certain what fundamental data is available from TD Ameritrade.

Are you able to NinjaTrader 7 which is not in Beta and is the current stable version of NinjaTader, and connect to TD Ameritrade and view these columns in the Market Analyzer?

          hey there,

loaded up NT7, only Ask/Bid/Last Price are displayed and working. Nothing else from the provided options works - Average Volume / Shares Outstanding. It seems like they're not providing that information over to you then. I'll have to look into what other options for a data provider are there. But if I want to Auto-Trade that means, using them for more than just data, but actual executions...Hmm... darn; and then have to look into what's best price for equities.

Custom Indicators work on both well - but they are super slow on NT8b12, as almost everything is. Strategy Analyzer for SP500 takes 1-2 minutes on NT7, and well above 20 minutes for NTb12, running essentially the same strategy. If I click anywhere on NT8B12, it would crash. Using 15%-20% of 4 core CPU (so I still have up to 5% left from that one), and up to 50% of 12GB ram.

Considering doubling my CPU sizes, to some 20GHZ 4 core, and 24GB ram; I wonder if that would make an actual difference.

Sorry I veered off topic there for a bit. To summarize TD Ameritrade only shares the most rudimentary price data.

            Hi lmatiukas,

I have verified that Kinetick supplies these values for most equities.

Regarding performance, while NinjaTrader 8 uses slightly more resources, it is able to spread the load of charts, backtests, and optimizations over multiple cores while NinjaTrader 7 is not.

In a blank workspace with no other charts open and no other workspaces open, using the SampleMACrossOver script in a Strategy Analyzer window, using the same from and to date same data series instrument, bar type, and inverval, are you finding that the same backtest in NinjaTrader 7 is able to finish much quicker? (I recommend you pre-load historical data so that this does not have to download when starting the test)

Regarding the crashing when clicking on NinjaTrader, I am not able to reproduce this behavior using the publicly available download of NinjaTrader 8 Beta 12. This may indicate a corrupted installation on your computer or could indicate a script within NinjaTrader is generating errors.

I would like to give you a call to test a clean Documents\NinjaTrader 8\ folder without any custom scripts to see if we can reproduce this behavior.
