.NET API?

Is there a .NET api for connecting to a custom developed black box trading system? No broker is being used. It's a completely custom system with it's own market data and order routing, but I'd like to manually manage orders with NT.

There is no API that will provide you with the capabilities you are looking for.

will the DLL or COM api get me anywhere? i don't really have a good feel for what functionality they expose.

No that allows you to place orders to an NT based brokerage from an external application.
