some tips when using vista

never ever shut down ninja trader with a 5 volume chart or a chart with tons of price bars. probably a chart that went back weeks. you will lock up all yr memory and cpu as soon as u open nt. it took me about 10 -20 hours trying to get nt to work again. reinstalling the software will not work because all yr old charts are reinstalled too for some reason. as soon as nt starts shut the charts down as fast as possible. it may take hours. shutting down the control panel and clicking no or no to all on saving desktop doesnt work. memory use hit 1,000,000 k cpu 100%

with vista dont start mozilla or anything before u open ninja trader. start it right away. im running nt in xp mode on a vista computer as of today, opened fine we will see. i also had /have big problems opening nt with vista.

This is not related to vista. This setup easily could results 10 of millions of bars e.g. on ES and just would exhaust RAM. See performance tips here: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...anceTips1.html
