Cannto compile - use new indicators due to SMA function issue

    Hello,

I recently installed a new indicator and I think it may have messed with NT SMA function.

Only 1 set of indicators seem to be effected. Ranchodineros packs. I get the following error when trying to compile any indicator

    Indicator\TSMA.cs The type 'NinjaTrader.Indicator.SMA' exists in both 'e:\Paulhome\Documents\NinjaTrader 7\bin\Custom\AcmeMarketInternalsPack.dll' and 'e:\Paulhome\Documents\NinjaTrader 7\bin\Custom\AcmeVolumeBreakdownPack.dll' CS0433 - click for info 29 11

I cannot delete the function/indicator TSMA in the ninjatrader tools, because it says it is used by other files. If I manually remove it, there are issues with indicators that use it. I'm sort of stuck. Can't remove anything, can't re-iknstall anything as it says the errors must be fixed prior.

Can you suggest anything to help resolve?

I have 2 issues that may have caused this. 1, I moved (via w10 supported function) my 'documents' directory to another location. After that I had to add back some references to source so NT would run. I think all was OK after this though. I did install another indicator and I am pretty sure it overwrote SMA. I never in fact go that one to work though and it is not currently installed.

I do have some backups, but I've done a lot of work to my workspace in the last few days, so do not want to try to restore and loose that, if possible to avoid.

    Thanks.

    Hello pjsmith,

    Thank you for your post.

You are missing the pre-loaded indicator in NinjaTrader. To resolve this you would need to uninstall NinjaTrader > then go to Documents\NinjaTrader 7 > rename the Config.xml to Prev.Config.xml > reinstall NinjaTrader > start up NinjaTrader > then shut down NinjaTrader > delete the new Config.xml file > rename the Prev.Config.xml file to Config.xml > restart NinjaTrader and the compile will work.

You can download the NinjaTrader installer from the following link: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect

Please let me know if you have any questions.

      Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. If I do this, will it preserve all my settings etc? There's quite a lot I would not want to lose.

      Thanks.

        Hello pjsmith,

        Thank you for your response.

The process I detailed will preserve your settings and files. Just ensure you do not rename or delete anything other than what is detailed.

That does seem to have sorted it. Many thanks.
