Is NT 7 or 8 multi-threaded? Reason I ask is I have some strategies I'm backtesting on my server in NT7 and they are executing on a second bar series Range, 1. And it takes FOREVER. My server has 16 cores. 48GB RAM, SSD raid configuration. I'm thinking of switching to multi charts because supposedly they claim they are multi-threaded. This is just too long with the hardware I have.

When it comes to backtesting specifically, (and not real-time trading with a strategy), both NinjaTrader 7 and NinjaTrader 8 do optimizations in multiple threads, however, NinjaTrader 7 does not backtest multi-threaded.
That said, other than when running backtests or optimizations NinjaTrader 7 runs all scripts and the UI in a single thread. NinjaTrader 8, however, is multi-threaded for real-time use and for backtests.
