Are there any good on-chart indicators for day trading? Suggestions are welcome.

Hello everyone,

I have limited experience with indicators, but I'm interested in trying out various ON CHART indicators to see if I can find something that may aid my trading decisions and remove discretion by giving me more objective signals.

Are there a complete list somewhere for indicators I may consider? I may also be interested in custom/non-commercial indicators.

I'd like to use on chart indicators (not at the bottom of my charts). For starters, I'll be playing around with simple MAs and EMAs.

But any suggestions for further exploration is very welcome!

Hello Johnny,

You can find custom created indicators on our forum under 'Version 7 Indicators'. NinjaTrader has about 100 indicators available by default. You can find them in the Indicator menu of charts. The MA is listed as SMA (simple moving average) in the Indicator menu. The EMA is listed as EMA.

You can check our NinjaTrader ecosystem website to search for 3rd party indicators. Please see the link below and click "Ecosystem" at the top of the webpage - between "Intl" and "Open Account". Click "Add-Ons" on the new website that opens up and click Search Add-Ons.

I'm aware of how to find and plot default indicators. Is there a list where I can browse and read about each in detail? I seem to find them by using SEARCH in the help section, but it's rather cumbersome if I can simply read in it's entirety somewhere.

Also, since this is not exactly a techie question, I'm appreciative of suggestions by other members with regards to indicators that may be worth exploring, either default or custom ones.
