Connecting NT7 to IB Paper Trading Account?

I have a NT multi broker license. I am trying to connect NT7 to my IB paper trading account.

I can connect NT to my IB account no worries.

If I connect via NT 8, I can connect via IB Gateway (build 952) to my live account and my paper trading account.

If I connect via NT 7 via TWS, I can connect to my real account, but can not connect to my paper trading account

I thought it was a socket problem (from this thread), so tried changing the socket in NT7 and TWS from 7497 (which works fine to connect NT7 to my real IB account) to socket 4001, but I still can not connect NT 7 to my IB paper trading account. What do I need to do?

When you try to connect to the paper trading account in NinjaTrader 7, does an error appear on screen? If so, what does the error report?

Hi, yes, I get the error message -

"Login failed: IB.Adapter.MessageLoop No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it"

Thank you for getting back to me.

Please start TWS then connect to the paper account. Next, open the Configure menu and select API from the list on the left. Please double-check the settings used in this window and confirm that each setting matches what you see in this image: http://ninjatrader.com/img/ConnectionGuide/IB_2.jpg

Thanks. That did it. For some reason, the ActiveX and socket clients was no longer selected. It's working.
