trading when ninjatrader is offline

is it possible to make a strategy trade when you are not logged in . meaning that the strategy will continue trading even when my computer is turned off?

also i am connected to interactive broker(IB) data feed, every time i log out of IB TWS, ninja trader gets disconnected also, is there a way to use IB data feed without having to open TWS?

Thanks for your post.

No, your strategy runs in your PC and if the PC is not running, your strategy is not running.
No, TWS must run for you to connect to IB through NinjaTrader.

Perhaps an alternative for you would be to rent a VPS which basically is a PC located usually near the exchanges that offer a shorter path to placing orders as well as a very good uptime. Please let us know if we can refer you to such a service.

yes i am interested in renting a VPS in the near future will this allow me run ninja trader strategy when i am offline from my IB account also or do i still have to be logged into IB?

For NinjaTrader running a strategy to place orders through IB, yes NinjaTrader would need to be connected with them.
