Which Installation Folder to Choose for NT7 64 bit?

Hello,

I would like to use the 64 bit version of NT7.

When I install NT7 the default installation folder the installation wizard chooses for me is "C:\Program Files (x86)\" (as shown in attached 1.jpg)

Should I switch this folder from "C:\Program Files (x86)\"" to "C:\Program Files\" (as shown in 2.jpg) if i'd like to use the 64 bit version of NT7?

I ask because (from what I understand) 64 bit applications are supposed to be installed in the "C:\Program Files\" folder.

Two follow up questions:

1. Why is it recommended to install the 64 bit version of NT7 in "C:\Program Files (x86)\" instead of "C:\Program Files\" ?

2. Would me installing NT7 in "C:\Program Files\" instead of "C:\Program Files (x86)\" allow NT7 to run Optimizations in the Strategy Analyzer any quicker? (FYI: finding out a way to speed up the time it takes to run an Optimization in the Strategy Analyzer is the underlying reason I started this thread.)

Thank you for the questions.

Due to the nature of NinjaTrader being both a 32 bit and 64 bit application, it is installed in the 32 bit Program Files (x86) folder and both versions have a separate installation folder inside of this folder. Based on the icon you double click, the correct version is launched. Using the 64 bit will always be the suggested icon unless the platform specifically tells you in a message box to use the 32 bit version.

Installing in a different location would not assist in making anything faster. This could also cause errors with references so I would not suggest modifying the default install directories if it is not absolutely needed for your computers configuration.
