Saving NT, wiping computer

I am reinstalling windows but need to save all the strategys and indicators that have not been exported yet.

Can I simply copy the ninjatrader folder to an external harddrive? The main thing here is I dont want to lose indicators and strategys that have not been exported yet...

Thank you for your post.

If you want to backup all settings, templates, ect. the best way is to create a backup file under File->Utilities->Back and transfer this file to your external drive.

Once your Backup file has been created it can be found in Documents-->NinjaTrader Backup.

More information about creating a Backup and how to Restore can be found at the link I have provided below:

After you have NinjaTrader installed once again please save the Backup file in Documents->NinjaTrader Backup folder.

Next open NinjaTrader then to restore go to File->Utilities->Restore.

After the restore is finished restart NinjaTrader.

As a safety you may also save a copy of the NinjaTrader 7 folder to your external drive as well.

I'm guessing you can't export which is why you are copying?

Yeah - you should just need everything in My Documents folder with Ninja Trader 7/8.

Copy that one out...if you don't need data, just get the strategies/indicators folder....sound like you won't need your workspaces.
