    chart axis time period

was looking at the time axis of the 50 tick chart which varies between
the grid lines according to the volume of ticks
after hours I loaded a 1min chart and 50 tick and thought the 1min time
between grid lines was different than the day session, then thought I
might have been looking at a 1min I made from the tick rather than a 1min
    chart

so with minutes charts, will amount between grid lines always be variable
or are they able to be set by the user ?

Not sure what you are referring to. The x-axis is dependent on whatever chart type you are currently viewing. If you are using ticks it will build based on the amount of ticks. If you are using times it will build a new bar every x minutes.

The gridlines are not adjustable. They automatically scale to the best visible resolution depending on how zoomed in or zoomed out you are.

yes, I think part of it's I'm used to MetaStock where the Time gridlines
move with the Price rather than the Price moving past

Try using TimeLines indicator, it will draw vertical lines at certain interval.

hi Josh, Cycle Lines place vertical lines on the chart at x spaces between
the bars extending to the right - the TimeLines indicator does using time
          rather than a number
related: will NT v 7 have the option to 'view line in all windows' -
vertical lines like grid lines will appear or not in the indicator window/s

          thanks Mason - perfect

            Chart Axis Time Period

Mason.. your suggestion sounds like a whizzbang of an idea.. only one problem.. where might this "Timelines Indicator" for NT be hiding?

            Happy Trading,
