Middle mouse click to bring up cross-hair

I would like to activate the cross-hair with a middle mouse click instead of the mini data box .....so the cross-hair would appear on the mouse click then disappear on release.

Is this possible ?

No, this is not supported.

You might be able to convince your mouse software to reprogram it to do the key combo, but you'd probably not be able to turn it off.
