Problem connecting after upgrading to 7.0.1000.31

I upgraded to 7.0.1000.31 after a prompt today. But now it gives me an error about Firewall. But it is is absolutely a false error because I added ninja trader as an exception in the Firewall.

See the image attached. I have live trading licencee on Windows XP.

Edit: I just removed 7.0.1000.31 and installed 7.0.1000.30. It works again. please fix this.

I have a problem too. Can't verify licensed and for some reason FXCM is no longer an option as a broker.

How did you go back a version?

      Hello,

      Thanks for posting today.

Users on Windows XP that upgrade to 7.0.1000.31 will be unable to verify the license. We are currently working on a solution, however at this time you will need to downgrade to 7.0.1000.30.

First save your license key to a document

You can locate your license key by going to Help> License Key

Now exit NinjaTrader and uninstall it within Windows Control Center

Once uninstalled you can redownload NinjaTrader from the link below

      Paste your license key

      Select Submit

      Select NinjaTrader 7

      Under Prior Release select 7.0.1000.30

Download and then run the installer.

Thanks for the reply and temporary solution however I'm really upset that this wasn't caught before a release to the public.

This is a reminder that I should move to win 10. Maybe it is about time. Win XP has been very good to me. It is simple and very stable.....

Do not go to WIN 10 as of yet. I have it on my work computer and it has problems. Google Taskbar not working or Search not working.

If you don't have a touch screen windows 7 is very stable.

I have the same problems as above. How will we know when there is a fix? In the meantime I will try and reinstall the previous version and hope for the best. thank you.

                Hello everyone,

Thanks for your patience as we investigate this matter further.

Users on Windows XP and Vista that upgrade to 7.0.1000.31 will be unable to verify the license until the file at the following link is downloaded and installed.

Save the file to your Desktop, right click on the file, and select Install CRL

Once complete you can start NinjaTrader.

If you run into any issues while doing this, please send us a note to platformsupport (at) ninjatrader (dot) com.

Any idea when a full install package, without the need for the second file, be available?

                    Hello Segwin,

                    Thanks for your post.

This would be a matter that relates only to users who are using Windows XP. Moving forward, XP users will need to install this secondary file for license verification to work properly.

I use Vista Business 32 bit. No problem with new iteration of NT.

Today my continuum connection was dropped fro 18 seconds though. That has never happened.

                        Hello nepenthean,

                        Thank you for your post.

The first thing I would recommend doing is exiting NinjaTrader and restarting your modem/router.

If you have an antivirus/firewall installed you will want to add NinjaTrader to it's exceptions list.

We realize that lost connections can be frustrating. A connection state between NinjaTrader and your broker/market data vendor is not dictated by NinjaTrader. The NinjaTrader application only reports the connection state as it is reported by the API you are connected through. NinjaTrader behaves like a radio receiver in that it receives signals from the connected server. If the signals are not coming through, the underlying broker/market data vendor API reports this to the NinjaTrader application which in turn reports this back to you. Once a loss of connection is reported, NinjaTrader or the underlying API will continuously try to re-establish a connection.

Common reasons that contribute to connection stability are:
                        • ISP issues
                        • Hardware firewall changing IP addresses frequently
                        • Dynamic IP addresses changing frequently intraday. Usually this happens once a week but you may want to check with your ISP. If they do change daily, requesting a static IP address may help.
                        • Broker/market data servers may be experiencing temporary downtime
