Set default Account in Chart Trader

Hi there,

I connect to Continuum for data followed by IB for my brokerage.

Is there a way to set the default account in the Chart Trader to always be my IB account, not continuum? (provided global simulations is not on)

Hello Michelle,

Unfortunately not. You can have your live account automatically loaded as follows.

Uncheck 'Connect on startup' for all connections in NinjaTrader. Go to Control Center-->Tools-->Account Connections, highlight your connection and click Change. Click Next and uncheck 'Connect on startup'. Click Next until you finish the connection.

Make sure 'Always start in simulation' is disabled at Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->Simulator-tab.

Select your live account in all NinjaTrader entry windows you like. Disconnect your data feed and restart NinjaTrader.

Once NinjaTrader is restarted, please check if the live account is selected once you are re-connected to your broker.

If the account name starts with a letter that comes after the "s" alphabetically, unfortunately it will not be possible to have NinjaTrader order entry windows automatically open up with the account. I assume your IB account starts with the letter 'U'.
