Auto Trading on a portfolio of stocks

Hi, I am currently running free NT 7 and 8Beta. So I don't have access to auto-trading. I am evaluating this product for purchase.

Question: I can easily backtest against a portfolio of stocks (e.g. s&p 500). Works great!! I like to auto-trade against the same portfolio. Is that possible... or I can only auto-trade against a single stock at a time?

Please help and point to some videos, etc. if that is possible.

Hello stevenev,

Yes, it is possible to initiate an instance of a strategy for each instrument in a list.

To do this:

• Right-click the blank area on the Strategies tab of the Control Center -> select New Strategy
• Select the strategy from the Strategy drop-down
• Click the value for Instrument(s) -> click the drop-down arrow that appears
• Select Instrument List -> select the Instrument List you would like
• Set any other settings you would like for the strategies
• Click OK

In the video I highlight all strategies at the same time. This is done by holding the Ctrl key on the keyboard and then tapping the A key on the keyboard. (Ctrl + A to highlight all strategies, then right-click and click Enable to enabled all strategies at once)
