    Error on loading chart data

    Hello,

    The last couple of times that I tried accessing a stock chart in NinjaTrader, it took forever and I almost wasn't able to view any stock charts.

    After connecting and disconnecting, I finally was able to access a chart, but it took way too long.

    I get the following error message every time this happens:

    Error on loading chart data for 'TROW Default': Failed to request backfill data

    What do you recommend?

    Thanks for your post.

    What version of NinjaTrader are you using? You can check under Help -> About (Example: 7.0.1000.X)

    Who are you connected to? This is displayed by green on lower left corner of the Control Center window.

    (For a chart) what interval is selected?

    How many Days To Load have you selected?

      Hi Brandon,

      I am helping my mother trade stocks on her computer, using Remote Access, and I am not connected to her computer now, so I cannot answer some of those questions.

      I will try to get that data tomorrow.

      The answers I can give you now are:

      * She uses TD Ameritrade for her data feed.
      * I usually have her charts set to Daily charts (365 days)

        As you do get back into the system please also let me know if there is an antivirus/firewall installed such as AVG, Norton, etc.

          Hi Brandon,

          Yes, there is a firewall/anti-virus system. She uses System Mechanic Pro.

          She has been using this for many years.

            Hello,
            Thanks for your reply.
            I would recommend first exiting NinjaTrader and restarting the modem/router.
            Next add exceptions to the antivirus/firewall program.
            You will need to exclude the following directories.
            C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7 or C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 7
            (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 7

              Hi Brandon,

              Thanks. I did get a different error message today (I did not do what you suggested yet regarding the antivirus/firewall). Here is the error message that I got today:

              TDAmeriTrade-DO: ERROR: CONNDEAD SID=100 RetCode=18 Mess=03-1

              But the charts were displaying today, unlike yesterday morning.

                Please send in your log and trace files so we can look into this further.
                You can do this by going to Help> Mail to Platform Support

                  Thanks for your help.

                  I don't have remote access to my mother's computer at this time, so I will have to try and do that another day, hopefully tomorrow.
