Historical Data

Is there a way of having historical data locally so ninjatrader won't download it everytime you open up your chart? It just takes forever for the chart to paint the bars and specially if you change instruments!

Thanks for your post.

You can prevent NinjaTrader from requesting historical data unless you ask it to load historical data, however this will result in data missing from the times you are not connected.
To do this you would go to Tools> Options> Data and uncheck 'get data from server'

No overnight data with CQG demo

Hello,
I am running Ninja in SIM using CQG demo. I have no overnight data but all of yesterday's data is fine. I have not had this problem before. I've gone into the Historical Data Manager but "reload" is grayed out so I can't reload data. I have also gone into download and downloaded several days data but this hasn't made any difference. Was there an issue with CQG data overnight for SIM users? I know there have been problems with CQG SIM data before. Thanks.

This is unrelated to this thread. I would recommend creating a new thread for unrelated items.

To resolve this however you will just need to restart NinjaTrader as servers were switched.
